Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NST 4 January 2025 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. NST today intensifying low 1000 mb located southeast
of Cape Cod.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 949 mb located over the southwestern
Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:42 AM NST 4 January 2025 A low pressure system southeast of Cape Cod will rapidly intensify
into a powerful storm as it tracks northeastward today to lie over
the Southwestern Grand Banks this evening and over Eastern
Newfoundland by Sunday morning. Gale to storm force east to
northerlies will develop and spread over all waters ahead of the low.
On Sunday, storm to hurricane force northwest to southwesterly winds
will develop over southern waters in the wake of the low.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Southwestern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect
for all remaining waters, except Southwest Coast - west of Ramea,
where a gale warning is in effect.

Marine interests are also advised that a high water level warning is
in effect for East Coast and Northeast Coast.
