Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:53 AM NST 15 November 2018 A powerful low pressure system over Northeastern Funk Island Bank
will move to lie east the marine district this morning then south of
Greenland overnight. Storm to hurricane force west to northwesterlies
will gradually diminish to gale to storm force today. Winds will
diminish over western waters overnight and elsewhere on Friday as the
low moves further away.
A second low approaching from the Maritimes late Friday will spread
gale force southeasterlies over southwestern waters in the evening.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for East Coast, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank, Northern
Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters.
A freezing spray warning is in effect for the Strait of Belle Isle.
Marine interests are further advised that a high water level warning
is in effect for East Coast and Northeast Coast.
