Rain and fog patches changing to a few showers this evening then to flurries late overnight. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog patches and in flurries.

Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:53 AM NST 23 November 2017 An intense low pressure system approaching from the southwest will
track over Southwestern Newfoundland early this afternoon then across
the Northeast Coast this evening. The low will then turn
northwestward and move across the Labrador Sea on Friday. Gale to
storm force southeasterlies ahead of the low will shift to gale to
storm force southwesterlies in its wake. Strong to gale force west to
southwesterlies will persist on Thursday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest Coast, and South Coast. Gale warnings
are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised to prepare for higher than normal
water levels during high tide today along the South Coast to the west
of the Burin Peninsula and along the west coast from the Port au Port
Peninsula southward. The combination of storm surge and high waves
and pounding surf have the potential to cause minor coastal flooding
or infrastructure damage. Please monitor future forecasts for updated
