Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:45 PM NST 13 December 2018 An intense low pressure system northeast of the marine district will
continue to track northeastwards tonight. Meanwhile, a ridge of high
pressure over Maine is expected to drift eastwards and strengthen
south of the Maritimes. Consequently, strong to gale force west to
northwesterly winds will persist over all waters between the high
pressure and the departing low.
Marine interests are advised gale warnings are in effect for East
Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank,
Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
