Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 10:00 AM NST 14 November 2018 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 977 mb located north of the
Port au Port Peninsula.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today intensifying low 958 mb located near the
Great Northern Peninsula.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday low 944 mb located over northeastern
Funk Island Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today departing ridge located east of the Marine
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:49 AM NST 14 November 2018 A low pressure system just north of the Port au Port Peninsula will
rapidly deepen as it moves northeastward today. This low will be a
very intense storm as it crosses the Funk Island Bank this evening.
Gale force southeasterly winds will continue to spread across eastern
and northeastern waters ahead of the low today then veer to storm to
hurricane force west to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane warnings are in effect
for East Coast, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand
Banks, and Southeastern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters.
Marine interests are further advised that a high water level warning
is in effect for East Coast and Northeast Coast.
