Issued 10:00 AM AST 19 January 2026 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. AST today low 989 mb located over Banquereau.By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 979 mb located northeast of
Newfoundland.
At 3:30 p.m. AST today low located over the Gulf of Maine.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Tuesday low located over the northeastern Gulf
of St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:53 AM AST 19 January 2026 A low pressure system over Banquereau will continue trackingnortheastward today to lie northeast of Newfoundland by this evening.
Strong to gale force northerlies are forecast northwest of the low's
track with gale to storm force southwesterlies south of the low's
track.
A second low over the Gulf of Maine this afternoon will move
northeast to lie over the Northeastern Gulf of St. Lawrence Tuesday
afternoon. Strong to gale force southwest to westerlies are expected
south and west of this low.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect for Lurcher, Browns Bank
southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian
Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, Cabot Strait, and Anticosti.
Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, and all Gulf of St Lawrence waters.
