Wind easterly 40 knots with gusts to 60 from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence. Wind becoming east 50 this morning with gusts to 75 from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence. Wind becoming easterly 40 to 50 early this evening then diminishing to southeast 30 overnight. Wind diminishing to easterly 15 to 20 near noon Sunday and to northwesterly 10 to 15 Sunday evening except northwesterly 30 over southwestern sections.

Issued 3:00 AM AST 23 November 2024 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. AST today deepening low 984 mb located over Georges
Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 970 mb located over Northumberland
Strait.

At 3:30 p.m. AST Sunday departing low 982 mb located over Cabot
Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:22 AM AST 23 November 2024 A deepening low pressure system over Georges Bank will move to lie
over Northumberland Strait this evening. Then it will slowly move
east towards Cabot Strait and gradually weaken into Sunday evening.
Winds will increase to gale to storm force easterlies ahead of the
low then shift to gale to storm force southwesterlies south of it.
Winds will become gale force northwesterly over western waters in the
wake of the low.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, LaHave Bank, Sable, East Scotian
Slope, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait - eastern half, Gulf -
Magdalen and Chaleur - Miscou eastern half. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are advised that higher than normal water levels and
rough surf is expected along north and east facing coastlines of the
Gulf of St. Lawrence near the high tide Saturday afternoon and
evening.

Outlook for the start of the Southwest Nova lobster fishery.

Sunday..Winds northwesterly 35 knots. Seas 3 to 4 metres.

Monday..Winds northwesterly 25 to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to 20
late in the day. Seas 3 to 4 metres subsiding to 1 to 2 late in the
day.

Tuesday..Winds northwesterly 10 to 15 knots diminishing to light.
Seas one metre or less.

Wednesday..Winds westerly 20 to 25 knots in the morning increasing to
25 to 30 knots in the afternoon. Seas 1 metre or less increasing to 1
to 2 in the afternoon.
