Issued 8:00 PM AST 28 January 2022 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight dissipating cold front located over the
Gulf of St. Lawrence.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday intensifying low 993 mb located east of
Cape Hatteras.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday low 970 mb located over Browns Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight quasi-stationary ridge located over Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:38 PM AST 28 January 2022 A developing low pressure system approaching from near Cape Hatteras
will intensify rapidly as it moves to lie over Browns Bank Saturday
evening. Gale to storm force northeasterlies are expected north of
the low with gale to storm force southerlies south of it.

Storm surge, rough surf and higher than normal water levels are
expected along the Atlantic Coast of Mainland Nova Scotia and Cape
Breton Island Saturday afternoon and again early on Sunday.
Storm surge, higher than normal water levels and ice rafting are
expected Saturday afternoon in the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except for Chaleur-Miscou - western half. Freezing spray
warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan and all Gulf of St.
Lawrence waters.
