Wind west 25 knots diminishing to variable 10 to 15 early this evening then increasing to east 25 to 35 late this evening. Wind increasing to northwest 50 to 60 after midnight except southwest 45 to 55 over southeastern sections. Wind becoming northwest 55 to 70 early Tuesday morning then diminishing to northwest 45 to 55 near noon Tuesday. Wind diminishing to west 35 to 45 Tuesday evening.

Flurries changing to snow this evening then to rain or snow after midnight. Snow Tuesday morning becoming flurries near noon Tuesday. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Freezing spray over northwestern sections late this afternoon and tonight. Freezing spray over western sections Tuesday.

Temperatures minus 1 becoming minus 5 to zero this evening.

Issued 10:00 AM NST 8 December 2025 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 1004 mb located over Nova
Scotia.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Tuesday deepening low 968 mb located east of
Funk Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:52 AM NST 8 December 2025 A low pressure system over Nova Scotia will rapidly
Intensify as it approaches today, crossing Eastern Newfoundland this
evening and Funk Island Bank overnight. The low will continue to
deepen as it pulls away to the northeast on Tuesday. Gale force
southerlies to northeasterlies will develop ahead of the low then
shift to gale to storm force southwesterlies to northwesterlies in
its wake. Hurricane force northwesterlies can be expected Tuesday
morning over Funk Island Bank and winds will briefly approach
hurricane force over parts of the South Coast, East Coast, and
Northern Grand Banks tonight. Winds will diminish to strong to gale
force westerlies to northwesterlies as the low pulls away.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Funk Island Bank. Storm warnings are in effect for
Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast, and the Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for Gulf - Port au Port, Northeast Coast
- Cape St. John and south, and Belle Isle Bank.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
