At 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday trough located over New England.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday low 1010 mb located over Maine.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Avalon Peninsula.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:55 PM NST 26 February 2021 A trough of low pressure over Funk Island Bank will continue eastwardtonight and depart to the east Saturday morning. Strong to gale force
west to northwesterlies will diminish to moderate to strong
westerlies over eastern waters as the trough departs and a ridge of
high pressure approaches from the west.
On Saturday, strong to gale force southwesterlies are expected to
develop over western waters between a passing ridge of high pressure
and a trough approaching from the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Northeast Coast and East Coast - north of Cape St.
Francis.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Grand Banks.
