Issued 3:30 PM AST 21 January 2026 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. AST today quasi-stationary low 976 mb located over
Labrador Sea.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today ridge located southwest of the Marine
District.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday ridge located south of the Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Thursday trough located over New England.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday trough located from Newfoundland to
Georges Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:50 PM AST 21 January 2026 Strong to gale force westerly winds over northeastern waters in the
wake of low over the Labrador Sea will diminish this evening as a
ridge of high pressure builds in from the west.

On Thursday, a trough of low pressure will track eastward across the
southern marine district. Strong to gale force southwesterlies are
expected ahead of the trough.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, Fourchu, Banquereau, Cabot Strait,
Gulf-Magdalen - eastern half and Anticosti - eastern half.

Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fourchu, Banquereau - northern half, Cabot Strait and all
Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
