Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 17 October 2019 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 980 mb located over southern Maine.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Friday low 984 mb located over the Gaspe Peninsula.

At 3:30 p.m. ADT Friday low 988 mb located over the Quebec Lower
North Shore.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:55 PM ADT 17 October 2019 An intense low pressure system currently over Southern Maine will
move northward to lie over the Gaspé Peninsula Friday morning.
Gale to storm force easterlies ahead of the low shift to strong to
gale force southwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Cabot Strait - northern half, Gulf - Magdalen - northern half,
Chaleur - Miscou, and Anticosti.

Gale warnings are in effect for Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank,
southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, and Cabot Strait - southern half, and
Gulf - Magdalen - southern half.

High water level warnings are in effect for Chaleur - Miscou and
Anticosti.

Also, rough surf and higher than normal water levels can be expected
along southeast facing coastlines of Cape Breton, over eastern
portions of Northumberland Strait, and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Water levels will gradually recede this evening.
