Issued 10:00 AM NST 16 January 2018 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 1013 mb located southwest of the
Avalon Peninsula.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 1008 mb located northeast
of the Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located from Labrador to Belle
Isle Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight dissipating ridge located on a line
east-west over Belle Isle Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight high located over the Maritimes.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Wednesday high located over the northern Grand
Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:53 AM NST 16 January 2018 A low pressure system will cross the Avalon Peninsula from the
southwest this morning and the Northern Grand Banks later today.
Strong to gale force easterlies ahead of the low will shift to
southwesterly gales to its south. Strong to gale force northerlies
are expected in the wake of this feature. Winds will diminish tonight
as the low moves away.

Marine interests are advised that gale warning are in effect for
Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast - Cape St. Francis and
south, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Southwest Coast,
Northeast Coast, and Belle Isle Bank.
