Issued 3:00 AM NST 22 January 2026 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 975 mb located south of Greenland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 987 mb located south of
Greenland.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 1006 mb located north of Prince Edward
Island.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Friday low 984 mb located east of Funk Island Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located from Hudson Bay to the
Maritimes.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:55 AM NST 22 January 2026 A low pressure system south of Greenland will remain nearly
stationary today and weaken. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure will
approach from the west. Gale to storm force westerlies between these
two features will begin to diminish as the ridge moves in and the low
weakens.

A second low pressure system will form over the Maritimes this
afternoon and track northeastward across Newfoundland to lie east of
Funk Island Bank by Friday afternoon. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies ahead of the low will shift to strong to gale force
westerlies to northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Coast and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Gulf - Port au Port.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast
- Cape St. Francis and south, and the Southern Grand Banks.
