Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:46 AM NST 18 January 2018 A trough of low pressure associated with a developing low pressure
system lying east of Cape Hatteras this morning will cross the Grand
Banks Friday morning. The low will then pass south of the Grand Banks
Friday late in the day. Over the Southern Grand Banks, strong to gale
force southerlies will develop south of the trough tonight with
strong northeasterlies to its north. Winds will shift to gale force
northerlies on Friday as the low approaches.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Southern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Southwest Coast, South Coast, and the
