Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NST 19 February 2020 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located over central Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing trough located east of the
Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located on a line east-west over
the Quebec Lower North Shore.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over eastern Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:16 PM NST 19 February 2020 A trough of low pressure over Central Newfoundland will track east
this evening. Gale to storm force southerlies ahead of the trough
will shift to strong to gale force westerlies in its wake.

A second trough will sweep across the marine district on Thursday,
causing the strong to gale force westerlies to persist.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Coast, East Coast, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Strait of
Belle Isle.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Strait of Belle Isle and the
Southeastern Grand Banks.
