Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:55 AM NDT 3 April 2025 An intense low pressure system over the East Labrador Sea will tracknorthwards today. Gale force northwesterlies over Belle Isle Bank
will diminish today as the low departs.
A second area of low pressure will approach the district from the
west today and pass over Cape Breton Island then south of
Newfoundland on Friday. Strong to gale force northeast to
southeasterlies are expected to develop north of the low on Friday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank and Southwestern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank,
and Funk Island Bank.
