over Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Labrador.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:00 AM NST 15 January 2025 A developing low pressure system over Laurentian Fan will intensifyas it crosses the Southern Grand Banks today to lie east of the Grand
Banks overnight tonight. Gale force northeasterly to northwesterly
winds will spread across eastern waters tonight and Thursday in the
wake of the low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half.
