Newfoundland.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over New Brunswick.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:59 AM NST 8 December 2024 A quasi stationary low pressure system north of the Labrador Sea willgradually weaken over the course of today. Strong to gale force west
to southwesterlies over northern waters will slowly diminish as the
low weakens.
A second low pressure system will approach from Quebec and cross
Newfoundland on Monday. Gale to storm force southeasterlies will
develop ahead of the low and shift to strong to gale force southwest
to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised storm warnings are in effect for South
Coast and Southwestern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle - western half and
Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, and Belle Isle Bank.
