Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 20 March 2018 Tonight and Wednesday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight ridge located west of the Marine District.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Wednesday ridge located on a line

At 3:00 a.m. ADT Wednesday warm front from low located southwest

By 8:00 p.m. ADT Wednesday warm front from low located on a line
east-west over the southern Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:59 AM ADT 21 March 2018 A warm front associated with an approaching low pressure system will
move into the southern marine district today before tracking
northward on Thursday. Strong to gale force northeasterly winds north
of the trough will spread to most of the district by Thursday morning
and switch to strong to gale force southwesterly winds in its wake.

Current information including satellite-based ocean wind measurements
indicate that this warm front will track along the southern edge of
the slope waters today prior to moving northward. There remains some
uncertainty with the extact strength and track of the associated low
pressure system which is expected to enter the western marine
district Thursday afternoon. Should the low arrive more intense than
is currently forecast, storm force northeasterlies and
southwesterlies near this feature may develop over some western

Marine interests are also advised that gale warnings are in effect
for all marine waters except for Chaleur-Miscou - western half, and
Anticosti - northwestern half.
