Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM AST 2 December 2020 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. AST today low 1000 mb located over western Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday low 994 mb located over northern Quebec.

At 10:00 a.m. AST today cold front located on a line north-south
over the central Marine District.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday departing cold front located east of
the Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:46 AM AST 2 December 2020 A low pressure system over Western Quebec will continue to track
slowly northward today and push a cold front eastward across the
marine district. Strong to gale force southerly winds ahead of the
front will diminish in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - eastern half, Laurentian Fan - eastern half, Cabot
Strait - northern half and Anticosti eastern half.

Outlook for the start of the southwest lobster fishery.

Today...Winds southwesterly 15 knots increasing to 20 to 25 knots
late this evening. Seas 3 to 4 metres subsiding to 2 to 3 metres this
evening.

Thursday..Winds westerly 20 knots diminishing to southwest 15 in the
afternoon. Seas near 2 metres.

Friday..Winds southwest 20 knots. Seas 1 to 2 metres building to near
2 metres in the evening.
