Issued 8:00 PM NST 18 February 2019 Tonight and Tuesday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 974 mb located over Labrador Sea.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Tuesday low 972 mb located northeast of Belle
Isle Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight intensifying low 994 mb located southwest
of Laurentian Fan.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Tuesday deepening low 948 mb located east of the
Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:55 PM NST 18 February 2019 An intense low pressure system over the Labrador Sea will move slowly
eastward on Tuesday. Generally strong to gale force westerly winds
are expected over most waters, with gale to storm force
northwesterlies over the Belle Isle Bank tonight.

A second low pressure system will rapidly intensify as it skirts the
southern edge of the Grand Banks tonight then moves well east of the
district on Tuesday. Gale force northerlies will develop over the
Southern Grand Banks tonight to the north of the low then back to
strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for Gulf - Port au Port,
Southwest Coast, South Coast, Funk Island Bank, and the Southern
Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Coast
which are mainly ice covered.
