over the East Coast of Newfoundland.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
north-south over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:23 PM NDT 21 April 2026 A trough of low pressure will remain nearly stationary just east ofNewfoundland throughout the forecast period. The trough is expected
to intensify overnight tonight into Wednesday. As a result, strong to
gale force northerlies will develop just west of the trough tonight
and Wednesday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle
Bank, and Southwestern Grand Banks.
