Issued 10:00 AM NST 2 February 2023 Today Tonight and Friday At 10:00 a.m. NST today intensifying low 996 mb located east ofthe Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today departing low 975 mb located east of the
Marine District.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Friday approaching trough located over the
Maritimes.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday departing ridge located over the Grand
Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:45 AM NST 2 February 2023 A low pressure system located south of the Grand Banks will tracknortheastwards this morning. Strong to gale force northeasterlies
over the Southern Grand Banks will diminish to moderate to strong
north to northwesterlies today as the low moves away from the marine
district.
A trough of low pressure will approach the marine district from the
southwest tonight and cross Newfoundland on Friday. Gale to storm
force south to southeasterlies will spread across most waters on
Friday ahead of the trough and veer to strong to gale force
westerlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Coast, Northeast Coast and the
Southern Grand Banks.
