As of 10:00 A.M. ADT on Wednesday, newly-formed tropical storm Bertha
is located near latitude 32.7 north, longitude 79.4 west, or about 30
nautical miles east-southeast of Charleston, South Carolina. Bertha
is moving towards the northwest at about 8 knots and has maximum
sustained winds of 40 knots. Bertha is expected to weaken to a
tropical depression after moving inland over South Carolina later
today and is currently not expected to affect the marine district.
