the southern Marine District.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:48 PM NST 20 February 2020 A low pressure system tracking southward over the Labrador Sea
tonight will move across northeastern sections of Belle Isle Bank on
Friday. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure will build from the south
to lie across southern waters by Friday evening.
Over northern waters, the strong to gale force westerlies will
increase to gale to storm force as the low approaches. Over the
remaining waters, the strong to gale force westerlies will begin to
diminish with the approaching ridge.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, and the Southern Grand
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Strait of Belle Isle and the southern
half of the Southern Grand Banks.
