Issued 3:30 PM NST 12 January 2026 Tonight and Tuesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 954 mb located over western Newfoundland.By 3:30 p.m. NST Tuesday low 961 mb located south of Greenland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:22 PM NST 12 January 2026 A low pressure system over Western Newfoundland will continue totrack northeastward to lie east of Belle Isle Bank overnight tonight
before moving south of Greenland on Tuesday. Storm to hurricane force
southeasterlies to northeasterlies will shift to storm to hurricane
force northwest to southwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Southwest Coast, East Coast -
north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank, and
Northern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, and
Belle Isle Bank - northwestern half.
