Hurricane force wind warning in effect.

Wind variable 10 to 15 knots increasing to southeast 25 this morning and to southeast 35 to 45 near noon. Wind increasing to east 45 to 55 early this evening then veering to south 45 to 55 late overnight except northwest 55 to 65 over northwestern sections. Wind becoming northwest 45 to 55 near noon Wednesday then diminishing to northwest 35 to 45 Wednesday evening.

Snow beginning this morning becoming rain or snow this evening then flurries Wednesday morning. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water moderate freezing spray over northern sections today and tonight. Severe freezing spray late overnight and Wednesday.

Temperatures minus 16 to minus 8 rising to minus 5 to plus 3 this evening then falling to minus 14 to minus 6 Wednesday morning.

Issued 4:00 AM NDT 17 March 2026 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 a.m. NDT today deepening low 977 mb located over southern
Quebec.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday low 945 mb located over the North
Labrador Coast.

At 4:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT today departing ridge located east of the Marine
District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:51 AM NDT 17 March 2026 A deepening low pressure system will track northwards across Quebec
today and move over North Labrador Coast overnight. Gale to storm
force southerly to easterly winds will develop over all waters ahead
of the system, then shift to storm to hurricane force southwesterly
to northwesterlies behind it.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for North Labrador Coast - north of Saglek and Northwest
Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for Mid Labrador Coast,
South Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
