Issued 10:00 AM NST 5 December 2025 Today Tonight and Saturday At 10:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 979 mb located northeastof Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday low 956 mb located east of Funk Island
Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching ridge located on a line
north-south over the Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:06 AM NST 5 December 2025 An intensifying low pressure system northeast of Newfoundland willmove to lie and meander over Funk Island Bank this afternoon and
evening. Strong to gale force southeasterly to northeasterly winds
will spread over eastern and northern waters ahead of the low while
gale to storm force west to northwesterlies will spread over most
waters in its wake. Winds will further intensify to storm to
hurricane force west to northwesterlies tonight as the low deepens,
before slowly diminishing on Saturday as the low moves east of the
marine district.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks.
Storm warnings are in effect for Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest
Coast, South Coast, East Coast, Northeast Coast, and Southern Grand
Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern
half, Northeast Gulf, and Belle Isle Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters,
Southwest Coast, East Coast, and Northeast Coast.
