ice west of the ice edge.

Ice Coverage

1 tenth new ice except 6 tenths grey-white ice in the northwestern
section. Consolidated grey-white ice in a few sheltered bays.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NST 10 February 2026 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 3:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 978 mb located east
of Funk Island Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the northern Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday departing trough located east of the
Grand Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. NST Wednesday approaching low 989 mb located south
of Nova Scotia.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:57 AM NST 10 February 2026 A low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will remain nearly
stationary throughout the forecast period. Strong to gale force
northeasterlies to northwesterlies are expected over eastern waters
as a result of the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half, East Coast, Northeast Coast,
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
