northeastern United States.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Friday deepening low 983 mb located over the East
Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 997 mb located southeast
of Cape Cod.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Friday deepening low 966 mb located over Belle
Isle Bank.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today deepening low 998 mb located over the North
Labrador Coast.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Friday low 985 mb located over Ungava Bay.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:27 AM NST 15 January 2026 A low pressure system is expected to form over the Gulf of St.
Lawrence this afternoon and track northeastward into the East
Labrador Sea by Friday morning. Strong to gale force northwesterlies
will develop over southern waters tonight behind the low. Winds will
quickly diminish to strong Friday morning.

A second low pressure system will form southeast of Cape Cod tonight
and rapidly deepen as it crosses Newfoundland on Friday. A second
period of gale force northwesterlies will develop over southern
waters with this low Friday evening.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast and Mid Labrador Coast - Hopedale and south.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all open waters except Northwest Labrador Sea - southern
half, and East Labrador Sea.
