Issued 8:00 PM AST 23 January 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight cold front located from the Gulf of Maineto Banquereau.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Saturday departing cold front located south of
the Marine District.
At 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday approaching ridge located over the
Great Lakes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:25 PM AST 23 January 2026 A cold front will continue to move southeastward across the marinedistrict tonight. Strong to gale force west to southwesterlies ahead
of the front veer to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.
In the wake of the cold front, the coldest outbreak of Arctic air so
far this season is expected on Saturday. Freezing spray is expected
for all waters except possibly the extreme southern parts of the
Scotian Slope waters. Severe freezing spray is expected over ice free
areas of the Western and Northern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Marine interests are advised that gale and freezing spray warnings
are in effect for all marine areas.
