At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located over New England.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the central Marine District.
At 3:30 p.m. AST Sunday low 1016 mb located over New England.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday low 1013 mb located near Grand Manan.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:56 PM AST 16 January 2026 A trough over the Grand Banks will move farther away tonight. A ridgewill approach tonight and move across the district on Saturday.
Gale to storm force westerlies will diminish tonight and Saturday
morning.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope - northwestern half,
Fourchu, Banquereau, and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect
for all remaining maritime waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou, and
Anticosti.
