Issued 10:00 AM AST 5 December 2025 Today Tonight and Saturday At 10:00 a.m. AST today intensifying low 982 mb located overeastern Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 966 mb located east of Newfoundland.
At 10:00 a.m. AST today ridge located over New England.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday ridge located over the central Marine
District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:55 AM AST 5 December 2025 An intense low pressure system over Northeastern Newfoundland willslowly track eastward to lie east of Newfoundland this evening while
a ridge of high pressure over New England will move to lie over the
western marine district tonight. Gale to storm force northwesterlies
are expected between these two features.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half, and
Anticosti - southeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for
remaining waters except Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank,
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, southwestern shore and LaHave Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, West
Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope, and Laurentian Fan.
