Snow changing to snow or freezing rain early this morning then to rain or periods of freezing rain and fog patches near noon and ending Friday morning. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation and in fog patches.

Temperatures minus 6 rising to plus 2 this afternoon then falling to minus 4 after midnight. Temperatures rising to plus 2 Friday morning then falling to minus 10 Friday evening.

Issued 3:00 AM AST 24 January 2019 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. AST today departing ridge located east of the Marine

At 3:00 a.m. AST today low 997 mb located near the Great Lakes.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Friday low 970 mb located over the Gaspe Peninsula.

At 8:00 p.m. AST Friday low 958 mb located over Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:43 AM AST 24 January 2019 A low pressure system near the Great Lakes will intensify as it
tracks northeastward throughout the forecast period. The disturbance
is expected to reach the Gaspé Peninsula overnight tonight and the
Labrador Sea by Friday evening. Increasing southerly winds ahead of
the associated tough will reach gale force later this morning over
western waters and spread eastward this afternoon and into Friday.
Winds will shift to westerly in the wake of the trough and gradually
diminish as the low moves further away from the marine district.
This wind shift will bring cooler temperatures to marine waters and
strong to gale force westerly winds over Anticosti will bring
freezing spray to that region.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all

effect for Anticosti.

Additionally, high waves and pounding surf may generate higher than
normal water levels along south facing coastlines from St. Margaret's
bay to Yarmouth near high tide late this evening.
