Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 8 April 2020 Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 990 mb located south of East Scotian
Slope.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Thursday intensifying low 985 mb located south
of Laurentian Fan.

At 8:00 p.m. ADT Thursday approaching low 978 mb located near the
Gulf of Maine.

At 3:00 a.m. ADT Thursday ridge located on a line north-south over
the western Marine District.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Thursday departing ridge located over the eastern
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:36 PM ADT 8 April 2020 An intense low pressure system will approach the marine district from
the west late Thursday and into Friday. Gale force winds will begin
over the western marine areas Thursday evening then spread over
remaining areas by Friday morning. Winds could potentially reach
storm force for some eastern and northern waters.

In addition, due to a series of abnormally high astronomical tides,
this system will bring higher than normal water levels and likelihood
of coastal flooding to areas along the Bay of Fundy during high tide
late Thursday evening. Marine interests are advised that a high water
level warning is in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan and Lurcher.

Marine interests are also advised that gale warnings are in effect
for Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank,
southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, and West Scotian Slope.
