Issued 8:00 PM AST 20 February 2019 Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located over the western Marine
District.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday ridge located from Anticosti Island to
East Scotian Slope.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday low 1007 mb located west of Georges Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday low 998 mb located over East Scotian
Slope.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:51 PM AST 20 February 2019 A ridge of high pressure west of the Maritimes will gradually build
across the district tonight and Thursday. Gale force northwesterlies
ahead of the ridge will diminish from west to east as it nears the
region. Meanwhile a low pressure system will approach southwestern
waters Thursday morning and will move to lie over East Scotian Slope
Thursday evening. Winds will strengthen to strong to gale force
southeasterlies ahead of the low then shift to strong to gale force
westerlies in its wake.

Gale warnings are in effect for Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope,
eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian
Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait and
Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, eastern shore, Sable,
East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot
Strait, Gulf Magdalen - northeastern half, and Anticosti.
