Issued 3:00 AM AST 25 January 2026 Today Tonight and Monday At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located over New England.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Monday weakening ridge located from New Brunswick
to Laurentian Fan.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 1006 mb located south of Long Island.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Monday low 991 mb located over the southern
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:32 AM AST 25 January 2026 Strong to gale force northwesterlies and very cold Arctic air giving
freezing spray will continue today between a cold front east of the
marine district and an approaching ridge of high pressure.

The ridge will move eastward across the region today and tonight.
Winds will diminish near the ridge.

A low pressure system will develop along the Eastern Seaboard later
today and intensify as it approaches the Maritimes. The system will
track slowly eastward across southern waters on Monday. Strong to
gale force east to northeast winds are forecast north of the low with
strong southwesterlies expected to its south.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Fourchu, Northumberland Strait, Gulf Magdalen -
southwestern half and Chaleur-Miscou. Freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, East
Scotian Slope - southern half, Laurentian Fan - southern half and
Northumberland Strait - western half.
