Issued 3:30 PM AST 5 March 2026 Tonight and Friday At 3:30 p.m. AST today building ridge located from Quebec to
New Brunswick.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday ridge located from the Gulf of St. Lawrence
to the Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Friday low located south of Long Island.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday low located south of Georges Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:06 PM AST 5 March 2026 A cold northerly flow bringing freezing spray across northern waters
will subside tonight as a ridge of high pressure builds over the
Maritimes.

A low pressure system will slowly approach southwestern waters on
Friday passing just south of Georges Bank by evening. Winds will
increase to strong to gale force easterlies ahead of the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope and Cabot Strait - northern half.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for eastern shore, Sable - eastern half, Fourchu, Banquereau,
Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half and Anticosti.
