Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:34 AM ADT 20 September 2019 Post-tropical storm Humberto is approaching our southeastern slope
waters this morning. Humberto is expected to track across the
Laurentian Fan marine area later today before departing across the
Southern Grand Banks early Saturday morning. Gales affecting most
offshore waters will increase to storm force for parts of East
Scotian Slope and Laurentian Fan as Humberto moves through. Gale to
storm force northwesterlies expected tonight behind Humberto over
easternmost waters will gradually diminish early Saturday morning as
the post-tropical storm departs.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope - eastern half and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings
are in effect for Sable - eastern half, East Scotian Slope - western
half, and Banquereau - southern half.
At 3.00 AM ADT, post-tropical storm Humberto is located near
Latitude 40.6 north and longitude 58.0 west , about 220 nautical
miles south-southeast of Sable Island. Maximum sustained winds are
estimated at 75 knots and central pressure at 970 MB. Humberto is
moving north-northeast at 17 knots.
