Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:27 PM ADT 14 June 2021 Strong south to southeast winds will develop across the western
district this evening and will spread to eastern waters on Tuesday
ahead of an approaching trough of low pressure. Those winds could
possibly approach gale force beginning Tuesday afternoon over
northern and eastern waters.
Tropical depression two has formed off the coast of Cape Hatteras and
will move into the southern marine district by tomorrow afternoon.
Strong to gale force winds are likely for southeastern waters east
and south of the storm centre Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
At 12:00 P.M. ADT, tropical depression two was located near
Latitude 35.0 north and longitude 73.7 west, about 105 nautical miles
east of Cape Hatteras. Maximum sustained winds were estimated at 30
knots and central pressure at 1006 MB. Tropical depression two was
moving northeast at 18 knots.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope - southeastern half and Laurentian Fan.
