Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:50 AM AST 22 January 2019 Strong to gale force westerlies will prevail over most waters west of
a low over the Northeastern Gulf of St. Lawrence. This low will move
to lie east of Cabot Strait by this evening. Strong to gale force
northerly winds just west of the low will diminish overnight tonight.
However, increasing northwesterly winds today will reach gale force
across much of the district and storm force over the western section
of Gulf-Magdalen, and eastern half of the Northumberland Strait,
between the low and a ridge of high pressure west of the district.

On Wednesday the ridge will lie over the marine district. Late in the
day a low will approach from the Great Lakes, giving strong to
possibly gale force southwesterlies to western waters.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Northumberland Strait - eastern half and Gulf-Magdalen - western
half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except
Fundy and southwestern shore.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except East
Scotian Slope, Laurentian Fan, Northumberland Strait - western half
and Chaleur - Miscou.
