Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM AST 28 November 2021 Today Tonight and Monday At 10:00 a.m. AST today departing low 982 mb located over northern
Labrador.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Monday trough located over the Gulf of Maine.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Monday trough located from Georges Bank to the
Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:57 AM AST 28 November 2021 A low pressure centre over Northern Labrador this morning will slowly
pull away from the marine district today and tonight. Strong to gale
force southwesterly winds from this system will gradually diminish
over northeastern waters.

On Monday an approaching trough will move to lie from Georges Bank to
the Gulf of St. Lawrence by the evening. Strong to gale force south
to southeasterlies ahead of the trough Monday morning will spread
east through the day. Strong to gale force northerlies will develop
late in the day west of the trough.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank,
West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope,
Fourchu, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait - eastern half,
Gulf-Magdalen, and Anticosti - eastern half.

Outlook for the start-up of the Southwest Nova lobster fishery.

For area lfa33.

Monday..Wind light increasing to easterly 15 knots early in the
morning then to southeast 25 to 35 late in the morning. For western
lfa33 winds becoming variable 15 in the afternoon then increasing to
northwest 20 in the evening. For eastern lfa33 winds southeast 35
knots diminishing to variable 15 in the evening. Seas 1 to 2 metres
increasing to 3 to 4 in the afternoon except 2 to 3 west.

Tuesday..Winds northwesterly 30 to 35 knots backing to west 30 in the
afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 metres.

Wednesday..Wind northwest 25 knots diminishing to northwest 20 in the
evening. Seas 2 to 3 metres diminishing to 1 to 2 in the morning then
to 2 to 3 in the evening.

For area lfa34.

Monday..Wind light becoming northeast 15 knots in the morning
increasing to 20 to 25 near noon then backing to northerly 30 in the
afternoon and to 35 in the evening. Seas 1 to 2 metres increasing to
2 to 3 south in the evening.

Tuesday..Winds northwesterly 30 to 35 knots backing to west 30 in the
afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 metres dropping to 1 to 2 in the evening,
except 1 to 2 over Grand Manan.

Wednesday..Wind west 25 knots diminishing to northwest 20 in the
morning and to 15 in the afternoon. Seas 1 to 2 metres becoming 2 to
3 in the afternoon.
