Issued 8:00 PM ADT 17 April 2024 Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight ridge located over Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. ADT Thursday ridge located over the Maritimes.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT Thursday low 998 mb located over the eastern
Grand Banks.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Thursday low 994 mb located over the Avalon
Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 8:31 PM ADT 17 April 2024 A deepening low pressure system east of Newfoundland will bring
strong to gale force northerly winds to eastern waters on Thursday.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Fourchu, Banquereau and Cabot Strait.

Outlook for the start-up of the eastern shore lobster fishery.

Thursday..Winds northerly 20 knots increasing to 20 to 25 in the
afternoon. Sea state 1 to 2 metres.

Friday..Northwesterly 20 to 25 knots diminishing to 15 in the morning
and to light later in the day. Sea state 1 to 2 metres diminishing to
1 or less.

Saturday..Southerly 10 to 15 increasing to 20 in the afternoon.
Seas 1 to 2 metres.
