Issued 10:35 PM EDT 27 September 2022 Showers and thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts are expected to continue through Wednesday.

Mariners are urged to take all necessary precautions and prepare for the possibility of waterspout activity. Postpone voyage or seek safe harbour if possible. Keep in mind that waterspouts cannot be seen at night and may strike suddenly. Waterspouts are generally isolated in nature although they can also occur in families of two or more. Waterspouts are generally short-lived in nature, typically lasting 20 minutes or less. Waterspouts sometimes appear as funnel clouds with swirling water visible near the surface.
