Western Lake OntarioIssued 08:15 AM EDT 29 July 2021 Wind gusts up to 30 knots, frequent lightning and poor to very poor visibility in thunderstorms heavy at times are expected or occurring in the area.
Thunderstorms from Southern Ontario will move across the lake this morning. Wind gusts to 30 knots are possible.
Visibility could suddenly be reduced to half a mile or less in torrential downpours during the thunderstorms.
The thunderstorms should move to the southeast of the waters by noon.
Vessels without lightning protection should make their way to shore immediately. Poor to very poor visibility may contribute to voyage delays and make marine navigation hazardous. Mariners are advised to prepare for strong winds. If underway, plan to seek safe harbour.
