Wind light increasing to north 15 knots this afternoon and to northeast 25 this evening except north 15 over northern sections. Wind increasing to north 35 late overnight and to north 40 to 50 near noon Wednesday.

Snow this afternoon tonight and Wednesday. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray over western sections tonight and Wednesday.

Temperatures minus 11 to minus 3 rising to minus 8 to zero this evening.

Today Tonight and Wednesday. Outside the ice edge seas 1 to 2 metres subsiding to 1 or less near noon then building to 1 to 2 this evening. Seas building to 2 to 3 late overnight and to 3 to 5 Wednesday morning and to 6 to 8 Wednesday evening.

Issued 9:30 AM NDT 1 April 2025 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 a.m. NDT today intensifying low 996 mb located near
Anticosti Island.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Wednesday low 980 mb located over the South
Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 a.m. NDT today ridge located from Ungava Bay to Belle
Isle Bank.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT today dissipating ridge located over Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:51 AM NDT 1 April 2025 A low pressure system near Anticosti Island will intensify as
It tracks across the Quebec Lower North Shore to lie over Belle Isle
Bank on Wednesday morning. Strong to gale force east to
northeasterlies will develop ahead of the low this evening and
strengthen to storm to hurricane force north to northwesterlies as
the low intensifies over the South Labrador Sea on Wednesday.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South
Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Sea and Northwest Labrador Sea.
