Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM NST 19 January 2019 Tonight and Sunday At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight intensifying low 983 mb located over the
South Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Sunday departing low 972 mb located southeast of
the Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:20 PM NST 19 January 2019 An intensifying low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will
move to lie south of Greenland Sunday afternoon. Gale to storm force
winds can be expected around this low except over the South Labrador
Sea where hurricane force westerlies are forecast. Winds will
gradually diminish on Sunday as the low moves away.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for the South Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect
for the South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast and East Labrador
Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake
Melville and North Labrador Coast.

Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
