Wind becoming south 15 to 20 late overnight then backing to southeast 25 Friday morning. Wind increasing to east 35 to 45 Friday afternoon and to northeast 45 to 55 Friday evening.

Flurries changing to snow or rain Friday evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation.

Temperatures minus 5 to minus 1 rising to plus 1 Friday evening.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 5 December 2024 Today Tonight and Friday At 4:00 a.m. NST Friday approaching low 976 mb located off
Anticosti Island.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Labrador.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Friday departing ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the East Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:23 AM NST 5 December 2024 An intensifying low pressure system will approach the marine district
from the southwest Friday morning and track northeastward to lie over
the mid Labrador cost by Friday evening. Gale to storm force
southeast to northeasterlies ahead of the low will spread across all
waters on Friday morning before shifting to strong to gale force
southerlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and the Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for North Labrador Coast.
