Labrador Sea.
At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 999 mb located over Cabot Strait.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Tuesday low 988 mb located over Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:46 AM NST 9 December 2024 A low pressure system north of the Labrador Sea will depart to thenorth this morning. Strong to gale force southwesterlies will
diminish as the low departs.
A second intensifying low pressure system over the Cabot Strait will
cross Newfoundland today before moving northeastward to lie over
Belle Isle Bank tonight, and then southeast of the district on
Tuesday. Gale to storm force northwest to northeasterlies will
develop ahead of the low over southern waters.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast and South Labrador Sea - southeastern half.
Gale warnings are in effect for Mid Labrador Coast - Hopedale and
south, Northwest Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea - southeastern
half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Labrador Coast, and East Labrador
Sea.
